"Porto Electrónica 1985-2005" é um documentário que retrata a história da música electrónica, principalmente na sua vertente dançável, na cidade Invicta. Do Post-Punk ao Electro, passando por Acid House, Drum'n'bass e Deep House. Documentário realizado por Francisco Abrunhosa e Daniel Reifferscheid e produzido pela TVU. Banda sonora de Alex FX. Legendagem de Daniel Reifferscheid e Miguel Figueiredo. 

"Porto Electrónica 1985-2005" is a documentary detailing the history of electronic music in Porto. The story goes from Post-Punk to Electro, taking in Acid House, D&B and Deep House. Documentary by Francisco Abrunhosa and Daniel Reifferscheid, produced by TVU. Soundtrack by Alex FX. Subtitles by Daniel Reifferscheid and Miguel Figueiredo.

In Electronic Awakening, director Andrew Johner lifts the veil on an underground spiritual movement that has developed within electronic music cultures worldwide. Electronic Awakening is an Ethnographic Documentary feature film which investigates the spirituality of the Electronic Dance Music Culture and includes information about 2012 that hasn’t been released in the mainstream market.

Hoje, dia 1 de outubro, celebra-se o Dia Mundial da Música

Desde 1975 que se comemora, a 1 de outubro, o Dia Mundial da Música. A data foi oficializada pelo International Music Council (IMC), uma organização não governamental que conta com o apoio da UNESCO. Pretendia-se, com esta efeméride, promover os valores de amizade e de paz por intermédio da música. 

Do grego “Mousikê”, etimologicamente, a palavra música significa “arte das musas”, inspiração para todas as manifestações mitológicas e de cultura grega. Alguns estudos indicam que a música surgiu na Era Paleolítica e teve como ponto de partida a observação de sons da natureza. Desde a antiguidade, a música marca a história do homem, devido à sua presença constante em múltiplas atividades humanas, desde rituais religiosos até festivais profanos. Desde sempre, a música acompanhou a literatura: na Grécia Antiga, a poesia era era acompanhada por uma lira (daí ter ficado a designação "texto lírico"); no período medieval, as cantigas possuíam ritmos marcados por instrumentos, além do próprio canto do trovador. Hoje, popularmente, a música assume diversas novas funções, chegando a ser uma das terapias alternativas da psicologia e ainda objeto de estudo de muitos pesquisadores.

Considerada uma forma de arte, a música é normalmente subdividida em géneros e subgéneros, que vão desde a música erudita (conhecida como música clássica - forma considerada, pelos clássicos, como a representação perfeita da Inteligência humana), até à música religiosa, ao folclore (world music) e à música popular (rock, pop, punk, jazz, metal, hip-hop ou, mais recentemente, o techno, com todos os seus inúmero subgéneros: house, drum'n'bass, trance, electro-jazz, chill-out...)

A Música pode também ser entendida como manifestação dos sentimentos da alma, constituindo uma manifestação estética concreta da linguagem emocional.
Seja qual for o sentido que se lhe dê ou a perspetiva com que se seja analisada, a música é, sem dúvida, uma forma de arte bastante popular que nos acompanha em quase todos os momentos da nossa vida. Afinal, quem não gosta de música?

Assim sendo, Viva a Música! Sem ela, certamente os nossos dias não seriam os mesmos!

It’s finally here!!! The first (and probably the last) film about the Hague’s electro community, centering around I-F’s Murder Capital crew! The DVD is entitled "When I Sold My Soul To The Machine" and it's basically the story of the Hague and it's vibrant electro/techno/disco scene. The Documentary includes I-F, Alden Tyrell, Orgue Electronique, Legowelt, Intergalactic Gary, Syncom Data, Guy Tavares (the originator of Bunker) Pametex and numerous DJ's and folk from the Hague scene. If you are a fan of Dutch techno and electro, you should chek this sh*t out immediately as it seems unlikely we’ll be able to get more of this in.

Um excelente documentário sobre a história da House Music, começando em Nova York com o lendário Lerry Levan, no Paradise Garage, passando pelo Warehouse de Chicago, com Dj Pierre e Frankie Knuckles, atravessando o Atlântico até às festas Acid House no Hacienda, em Manchester. Depois, a conquista de toda a Inglaterra, com o Summer of Love, em 1988, e todo o fenómeno Rave, em finais dos anos 80.
